    A private memorial service will be held Monday, September 14, 2020 for Crystal Gail Profitt Hall, age 43, of Winchester, Kentucky who passed away peacefully in September of 2020.
    She was born August 19, 1977 to James Sandford Profitt (Juanita) and Janice Tuttle McKinney.
    Survivors in addition to her parents are her wife, Lisa Miley; children: Barry Baskin III (Kylie), Tyler and Lashay Hall; one sister, April Profitt (Brian), one niece, Devon Madison (Michael), two nephews, Sam and Ben Madison; special friends and family including her "other dad" Lon Goodwin; best friends, Kim Rice Pelfrey and Marc Crase; her "other son" Blake Browning; and her aunt/cousin/best friend, Staci Profitt.
    Crystal is preceded in death by her brother, James S. Profitt Jr.; her paternal grandparents, Charlie Elmer and Elsie Patrick Profitt; her maternal grandparents, Bergin and Dovie Woods Tuttle, and her best friend/cousin, Connie Profitt Hamilton.

    Shelby Newton, age 66, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at the University Of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
    He was born July 4, 1954 in Irvine to the late Dillard and Daisy Canter Newton. He was a retired construction worker.
    Mr. Newton is survived by his partner of 34 years, Maelee Holland of Irvine; three sons: Andy Newton and partner Penny Osborne, Shannon Kirby (Ashley), and Ryan Newton (Anglia), all of Irvine; one daughter, Shea Newton of Irvine; 16 grandchildren, one great grandchild; a brother, Manford Newton of Irvine; and two sisters: Annie Berryman and Lillian Young, both of Irvine.
    He was preceded in death by his parents.
    Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Monday, September 14, 2020 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel, 3905 Richmond Road in Irvine with Bro. Ivan Smith officiating. Friends may visit Monday from 10:00 a.m. until until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cane Springs Cemetery in Irvine.
    Pallbearers are Jobie Kirby, Donnie Crouch, Shannon Kirby, Logan Noble, Dillon Noble and Amos Ashcraft.

    Elijah Begley, age 46 of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020 in Cincinnati.
    He was born October 31, 1973 in Winchester to Arnold and Mageline Begley. He was a handyman.
    Mr. Begley is survived by his mother, Mageline Begley of Florida; his wife, Pamela Begley of Irvine; two daughters: Lisa Begley and Danielle Begley, both of Irvine; one brother, Arnold Begley Jr. of Florida; and five sisters: Lora Kelley, Naomi Finley, both of Florida, Rhonda Begley of Georgia, Rachel Turner and Sheila Snyder, both of Florida.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Begley; and a brother, Mitchell Begley.
    Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel, 3905 Richmond Road in Irvine with Bro. Harold Edmonson officiating. Friends may visit Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in the Newton – Wilson Cemetery in Irvine.

Wyoma Case Estes

    Wyoma Case Estes, age 75, wife of Douglas C. Estes, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at her home.
    A native of Clark County, Kentucky, she was born on August 21, 1945, to the late Garnie and Ella Bailey Case. She was retired from Clark Regional Medical Center, where she managed the cafeteria. Mrs. Estes was a member of Ruckerville Church of Christ.
    In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons: Timothy Estes (Charlene) of Portland, Oregon; Tommy Estes (Diana) of Winchester; and James Estes (Samantha) of Pittsboro, North Carolina; three grandchildren, six brothers and sisters, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2020 at Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

    Charles Herbert Young, age 50, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020, suddenly at his home.
    He was born May 5, 1970 in Estill County and was the son of the late Joe and Juanita Newton Young. He was employed by Turner Seed Company as a warehouse supervisor and lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Young is survived by one son, Charles Young (Starr); one daughter, Megan Young; one granddaughter, Sarah Young; one sister, Loretta Allen; and one brother, Ronnie Young; also several nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
    He is preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Abney; and three brothers, Elvis Young, Wayne Young and Rick Young.
    A celebration of life will be held Saturday 12, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at 1680 Cressy Road in Irvine. All who knew him and loved Charles are invited.

Marcia Lynn Buckland

    Marcia Lynn Buckland (Mamaw Buck), 62 yrs old from Clay City, Kentucky, was born September 8, 1957 in Winchester, to Laura Faye Means and the late Herbert Means. She passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 at her residence with her loving family beside her.
    She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmy Dean Buckland; her son, Brian Scott Buckland; and her brother, James Alvin Means. She was a niece to the late Kenneth Means (Tootsie) of Estill County.
    Mrs. Buckland is survived by her daughters: Jamie Buckland (Charles Luttrell ) of Mount Sterling, and Kayla Buckland of Clay City; five grandchildren, Adrian Harvey, Cierra Harvey, Christian Buckland, Caden Buckland, and Kierra Hawkins; one brother, Herbert "Herbie" Means, Jr. of Indian Harbor Beach, Florida; and four sisters: Pamela Hollon (Roger), Delilah King (Darrell), Rhonda Means, all of Clay City; and Vickie Lettis of Indian Harbor Beach, Florida. She had many nephew and nieces.
    The funeral service was held Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation was held Wednesday, September 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial was in Napier Cemetery in Clay City.

    She was born July 28, 1941 to the late Uri and Mattie G. Barnes Hackworth in Irvine, Kentucky. She was a niece to the late Charlie Barnes of Cressy.
    Ms. Hackworth is survived by a son, George Patrick (Gabriela), a step-daughter, Wavelene Cardona of Powell County; two sisters: Nettie Lykins of Ohio and Betty Jamison of Georgia; a grandchild, Mianna Jo Patrick and eight other grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
    Private services have been held.

    Wesley Ray Flynn of 885 Wagersville Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020.
    He was born October 31, 1974 in Estill County to the late Ann (Muncie) and Franklin Flynn.
    Mr. Flynn is survived by his father, Franklin Flynn (Beverly); two brothers: Brandon Flynn and Robert Lee Arthur; and two sisters: Charlotte Sutter (Randy) and Dessa'lena Kerby (Chris), all of Estill County.
    He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Muncie Flynn. He attended Ivory Hill Baptist Church. He was also a United States Army Veteran; he served for 13 years. He loved to hunt and enjoy the outdoors.
    A memorial service will be held at a later date with Bro. Chris Green officiating.

Bennie Reed

    Bennie Reed, age 88, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 4, 2020.
    Bennie was born in Madison County, Kentucky, on October 14, 1931. His parents were Charles Reed and Mary Jane Spivey Reed. Bennie married Sula Comley in 1955, after his tour of duty in the Korean War. He was employed by Bluegrass Plumbing and Heating for 42 years, and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Richmond.
    He is survived by his wife, Sula; a daughter, Janey Reed Masters (Kevin); a grandson, Benjamin Tyler Masters (Hannah); a granddaughter, Halle Grace Masters; a brother, W.D. Reed; two nieces, Donna Reed Grant (Wayne) and Brenda Lowery; and three nephews, Edward Earl Barnes (Shirley), Danny Barnes (Angie), and Randall Barnes (Jennifer).
    Mr. Reed was predeceased by three brothers, Daniel Reed (Maxie), Edward Reed (Nancy) and Gardiner Reed (Minnie); and one sister, Jane Barnes (Earl).
    A graveside funeral service was held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 1:30 p.m.

    Kenneth Darrell Hall, age 78, of Sandhill in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away at Compassionate Care in Richmond, Sunday, September 6, 2020.
    He attended Easter Valley Baptist Church and was a member of Twin City Kruzers Car Club.
    Mr. Hall is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Wiseman Hall; one daughter, Cynthia and son-in-law, Tojo Barnes; one grandson, Dillon and wife Brooke Barnes; two great grand babies, Willow and Piper Jo that was his pride and joy.
    He was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Spence; and his niece, Jeanette Neal.
    Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 p.m., at the Turpin Cemetery with Jack Chaney and Mike Davis officiating.
    Pallbearers will be Alan Alcorn, Jerry Hall, Howard Richardson, Ryan White, Brent and Brian Powell.
    Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Twin City Kruzers Car Club.

Sidney Marcus Sparks

    Sidney Marcus Sparks, age 89, died on Monday, September 7, 2020 at his home 110 Maple Street Irvine, Kentucky. He was the husband of the late Janie Ruth Barrett Sparks and the son of the late Isaac Thomas Sparks and Mary Margaret Shearer Sparks.
    Sidney was born on May 16, 1931 in Irvine, Kentucky. He was a retired trucker with Carhartt Inc. manufacturing and was of the Holiness faith. He loved his children and grandchildren, and going to church, as well as playing his guitar and singing.
    He is survived by his children, Sidney Sparks (Esther), Ray Sparks (Sandy), Wayne Sparks (Teresa), Ronnie Sparks (Beverly), Delorice Riddell, Naomi Gabbard (Cecil), Wanda Murphy, Thelma Brinegar (Michael), Charlene Brinegar (Ronnie), Kenneth Sparks (Jerei), Franklin Sparks (BeLinda) and Marsha Sparks; 22 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren; numerous foster children that called him Daddy and Papaw; and siblings, Herman Ray Sparks, Earl Sparks Jr. and Coffa Etta Embry.
    In addition to his wife, Janie Ruth Sparks, he is also preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Faye Sparks; and one son, Wayne Sparks; five great great grandchildren; a daughter in law, Marlene Rose Sparks; two sons-in-law, Rex Murphy Jr. and Roger Riddell; three brothers, Johnny Lee Sparks, James Sparks and Glendon Sparks; and two sisters, Marie Culton and Elsie Still.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, 1110 Barnes Mill Road in Richmond, with Bro. Jerry Rose, Bro. Larry Riddell and Bro. Phillip Smith officiating the services. Burial will follow in the Boian Cemetery in Estill County. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 9th at the funeral home.

    Peggy Lynn Thomas, age 57, of Blackburn Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at her home following a long illness.
    She was born April 15, 1963 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Harold and Louise Babb Carroll. She was a former Save-A-Lot cashier and she was a member of the Rice Station Christian Church since 1993. She lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband, Michael Thomas; one daughter, Courtney Thomas, Irvine; one son, Tony Carroll (Savanna), Richmond; two sisters: Sandra Marcum (Johnny), Irvine; and Judy Daily (Frank), Florida; one brother, Jeffery Carroll (April), Berea; and four grandchildren: Alex Barnes, Addilynn Barnes, Tyler Barnes, and Ben Carroll.

Tracy Dewayne Profitt

    Tracy Dewayne Profitt suddenly left this Earth for Heaven on Monday, August 31, 2020 at the age of 56. He will be soulfully missed by many!!!
    He proudly served his country as a United States Marine of many years. Tracy was a good man with beautiful blue eyes and a huge smile! He loved hunting, fishing, horses, and stories of Bigfoot; he loved to tease, laugh and joke around but he was serious when it came to his work.
    Tracy was born July 12, 1964 in Irvine, Kentucky, and was the only son of the late Tracy Gene Profitt and of Marylan W. Taylor who survives. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Brandon Profitt; a grandson, Jordan; two sisters, Donna Wesphal and Tina Rogers; his spouse, Sheryl and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kasey Drew Profitt.
    Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2020, 10-11 a.m., with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Clay City. Burial will follow in the Kennon Cemetery in Clay City. He will receive full military honors.
    Pallbearers will be Brandon Profitt, Katie Franklin, Autumn Rogers, Garry Booth, Doug Booth and Ray Profitt.

Raymond Gene Stamper

    Raymond Gene Stamper, age 78, of Walnut Grove Road in Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a long illness.
    He was born January 24, 1942 in Estill County and was the son of the late Alex and Haynes Miller Stamper. He was an auto body repairman and attended the Hargett Baptist Church. He had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Stamper was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Stakelbeck Stamper.
    He is survived by one daughter, Alicia Demmitt (Michael Jordon), Somerset; a sister, Margaret Dunn, Fayette County; a brother, Billy Don Stamper, Estill County; one grandchild, Ambrozia Demmitt; and a special friend, Lavonia Sebastian.
    Visitation was held between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 7, 2020 at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services were conducted by Bro. Larry Neal. Burial followed at the Sparks Alumbaugh Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Jimmy Miller, Aubrey Miller, Danny Fowler, Mike Horn, Bill Eldridge, Sam Miller, and Ben Fowler.

    Katherine Rounsley Rivel, age 76, wife of John “Jack” Rivel, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020.
    Kathy was born August 9, 1944 in Lexington, Kentucky to Frank and Grace Hinkle Rounsley. Kathy met Jack at Union College and they were married September 5, 1964. Kathy served as a nurse for many years. Kathy was a member of the Irvine United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful wife and mother and gram to her grandkids.
    In addition to her husband, Jack and daughter Kelly (Jim), she is survived by her mother, Grace Rounsley of Wilmore; and her sister, Molly Dee Rounsley (David). She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Grace, Hannah and Jonathan.
    Visitation will be held at Irvine United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A memorial service in celebration of her life will follow visitation at 3:00 p.m. Masks will be required by guests inside the church and appropriate precautions taken for the safety of all in attendance.

    Luther Martin Overbay, age 58, of Bradley Drive in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at the Compassionate Care Center following a long illness.
    He was born September 11, 1961 in Estill County and was the son of Mary Jane Walton Overbay and the late Raymond Overbay. He was a heavy equipment operator and had lived in Madison County most of his life.
    Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Cornell Willis Overbay; four daughters: Crystal Overbay, Madison County; Stephanie Lainhart, Estill County; Emily Rose, Powell County; and Jennifer Ross, Madison County; one son, Brian Rose, Estill County; three sisters: Delendia Overbay, Edith Blanton, and Bessie Overbay, all of Madison County; five brothers: Raymond Overbay, Jr., Estill County; Jerry Overbay, Sam Overbay, Dan Overbay, and Dean Overbay, all of Madison County; and eight grandchildren: Faith Smith, Skyler Smith, Daniel Rose, Colton Basiden, Addison Basiden, Lindie Ross, Sigourney Ross and Gemma Ross.

    Tracy Wallace McQueen Sr., age 81, of Jodi Lane in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, following a long illness.
    He was born July 25, 1939 in Estill County and was the son of the late Clay and Ethel Wells McQueen. He was a retired United States Army veteran of 34 years and 6 months who served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church and had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. McQueen is survived by his wife, Melba A. Wade McQueen; three daughters: Dawn Mortimer (Simon), London, Kentucky; Kelley Harlow and Susan McQueen, both of Estill County; two sons: Tracy McQueen Jr., North Carolina; and Patrick McQueen, Perryville; two half-brothers: Bobby McQueen and Michael McQueen; eight grandchildren: William D. Harlow, Benjamin J. McQueen, Shelby D. Neal (Derrick), Jonathan L. McQueen (Caitlin), Connor D. Harlow, Stephen D. McQueen, Caidan P.T. McQueen and James D. Harlow; and one great grandchild, Lara M. Neal.
