Beulah Mae Blevins Gay

    Beulah Mae Blevins Gay, age 98, departed this life on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the Irvine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Irvine, Kentucky.
    She was born on January 27, 1925, in Irvine, to the late Eli and Vada Curtis Blevins, Beulah was of the Christian Faith.
    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gay was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Gay; her son, Phillip W. Gay; two brothers, Edward Blevins and Hargis Blevins; two sisters, Thelma Flannery and Della Johns; three grandchildren, Sherman Gay III, Jason Gay, and Robert Gay; and one great grandson, James Sneed.
    Survivors include three children, Linda G. Crowe (Shelby), Sherman Gay Jr., and Eli Gay (Sherry); eight grandchildren, Bradley Crowe (Amy), Amy Delaware (Len), Melissa Gay, David Gay (Andrea), Phillip Gay Jr., Nicki Tipton, Jodi Shelton, and Jamie Shelton. There are seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
    A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Marjorie Lehman and Sara Webster will be officiating.
    Pallbearers will be Brad Crowe, David Gay, Bradyn Delaware, Michael Delaware, Canyon Hix and Mason Griggs.

Norman Edward Dawes

    Norman Edward Dawes, age 58, of Richmond, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at the Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
    He was born on May 30, 1964, in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Orville and Anna Mae Farthing Dawes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Dawes and Roger Dawes; and one sister, Marlene Rawlins.
    Norman is survived by his wife, Sharla Richardson Dawes; two daughters, Taylor Rivera-Dawes (Eric) and Breanna Dawes; one grandson, Callum Rivera-Dawes; and one sister, Doris Harrison (Steve); along with numerous other extended family members to miss him and mourn his passing.
    A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Rice Station Christian Church in Irvine, Kentucky. The family will greet friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 p.m. with services beginning at 1:00 p.m.

    Alpha Lois Barnes, age 87, of Bertha Wallace Drive in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at the Irvine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.
    She was born February 4, 1936, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Amanda Berryman Embs. She was a homemaker and member of the South Irvine Baptist Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Barnes, and is survived by four daughters: Mary Abney Patrick (Johnnie), Pauline Wallace (Randall), both of Estill County; Pamela Puckett Lank (Stan) of Madison County, and Elizabeth Wright (Kenneth), Estill County; four sons: Gary Barnes of Estill County, Wallace Barnes (Tammy), Ralph Barnes (Rosa), both of Clark County, and Samuel Frank Barnes, Jr. (Linda Crowe) of Estill County; three sisters: Brenda Melton, Elsie Richardson, both of Estill County; and Ruby Abner of Jefferson County; one brother, Henry Embs of Estill County; 23 grandchildren, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
    Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 27, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donnie Burford officiating. Burial will be at the Scrivner Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

    Jennie L. Puckett Berry, age 78, of McKee, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, May 22, 2023, in Waynesburg Manor Nursing Facility in Waynesburg, Kentucky.
    She was born in Irvine, Kentucky on October 22, 1944, to the late John A. and Lizzie Crouch Puckett. She was a homemaker and a member of The Glory land Baptist Church in Berea, Kentucky.
    In addition to her parents, Jennie is preceded in death by five sisters, Laurie Johnson, Sudie Mays, Ida B. West, Sally Markland, and Beatrice West; three brothers, James, Orville, and Willard Puckett; and a granddaughter, Brooklynn Faith Durham.
    Survivors include three sons, Tim Berry, Keith Berry, and Anthony Berry (Christy); one daughter, Tonya Howard (Kevin); ten grandchildren, Shawn Durham, Casey Berry, Michael Berry, Hannah Howard, Kaylee Berry, Gracie McKenzie Berry, Shelby Berry, Baylee Berry, Colton Berry, and Emilee Berry; two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and family and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
    Funeral services for will be conducted on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals. Pastor Brian Gabbard and Brother Shawn Durham will be officiating. Interment will follow in the White Oak Cemetery in Irvine. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Ruby Darlene Daugherty Cline

    Ruby Darlene Daugherty Cline was born July 20, 1953, in Madison County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at her residence in Irvine, at the age of 69. She was the daughter of the late Robert "Ed" Daugherty and Eva Willoughby Daugherty.
    She is survived by her two children, Gerard Lakes (Misty) and Angie Harrison (Tracey), both of McKee. Ruby was blessed with six grandchildren, Chandler Lakes, Lanae Lakes, Logan Hays, Miley Harrison, Emily Harrison, and Pauli Harrison.
    Other survivors include her siblings, Robert "Pete" Daugherty Jr. (Donna) of Ohio, Rosetta Banks of Sand Gap, Clifton "Babe" Daugherty (Kim) of Mt. Vernon, and Jennifer Hurt (Ben) of Richmond; her brother-in-law, Mike Witt of Sand Gap; and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
    In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Charlotte Witt.
    Ruby dedicated the last 23 years of her life to the Family Dollar Store in Irvine, Kentucky. The store was known as "Ruby's" store. She loved all the people and friends she made while working there.
    Ruby loved to call people Honey, Baby, and Sweetheart. Her hobby was collecting whatever she could sell. She could never pass up a yard sale and would buy in bulk and call everyone so they would not miss the deal. She would always have something in her car to give you if you saw her out. It was her joy in life to give.
    For those in the Irvine community, we hope you know how much she loved you. Thank you for being family to her.
    Also, the family thanks Sandy Conrad, a caring friend and caregiver to our Mother.
    The family will hold a private graveside ceremony at the Witt & Daugherty Cemetery per Ruby's wishes.

    Tony “Nash” Dunaway, age 59, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at home.
    He was born on March 16, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Elmer Dunaway and Johnetta Dunaway-Whalen.
    Tony attended Anderson High School and graduated in 1982. He attended Southern Ohio College on a basketball scholarship. Tony was self-employed as a carpenter and as a kitchen and bathroom remodeler. His hobbies included sports, playing drums in a band, and attending Indy car races.
    Tony is survived by his daughter, Adelaide Jean; mother Johnetta Dunaway-Whalen; step-father, Michael Whalen; brother, Dave Dunaway (Brenda); sister, Staci Owens (Billy); sisters-in-law, Becky Dunaway and Peggy Foster; a niece, Amber Dunaway; nephews Zak Dunaway, Wyatt Owens, and Aiden Owens;a friend and neighbor Rob Sauter; and many others.
    He was preceded in death by his brother, Kirby Dunaway; and his father, Elmer Dunaway.
    A gathering was held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 2 p.m. until time of service at 4:00 p.m. at the Fares J. Radel Funeral Home-Kellogg.

    He was born May 30, 1938, in Estill County and was the son of the late Kiser and Racheal Riddell Hardy. He was a retired construction worker and was of the Pentecostal faith. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
    Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Norton Hardy, and is survived by two daughters: Jennifer Tipton and Robin Turpin (Todd), both of Madison County; one son, Greg Hardy (Sharon) of Estill County; two brothers: George Hardy and Harvey Hardy, both of Estill County; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Turner and Rebecca Dixon; one son, Bobby Wayne Hardy; and several brothers and sisters.

    Kimberly Gail "Mimi" Strong, age 42, of Irvine, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at her home.
    She was born February 25, 1981, in Richmond, Kentucky to James and Edna Strong of Irvine. She was raised in Estill County where she lived all her life. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith.
    Kimberly is preceded in death by both of her maternal grandparents, Bruce and Beverly Watson; and her paternal grandfather Jesse Strong.
    Along with her parents, Kimberly is survived by her sister, Jamie Davidson (Billy) of Irvine; her paternal grandmother, Helen Strong of McKee; three children: one son, Joshua Adkins of Berea, and two daughters, Amber Adkins of New Jersey and Breanna Smith of Irvine; one niece, Jadyn Davidson of Irvine; one nephewc Billy Davidson Jr. of Irvine; her life partner, Douglas Brandenburg of Irvine; and two step-children, Lannie Brandenburg and Sylvia Brandenburg, both of Irvine. Kimberly also had several aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with many friends, to miss her and mourn her passing.

    She was born October 17, 1933, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Ollie and Orah Walton Warford. She was a homemaker and had lived in Estill County most of her life. She attended the Blooming Grove Family Worship Center and was a member of the Friends of the Bluegrass.
    Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Powell; and is survived by three daughters: Donna Jean Pitcock of of Richmond, Indiana; Linda Miller of Brookville, Indiana; and Debbie Powell, of Richmond, Indiana; four sons: Randy Powell (Connie) of Brookville, Indiana; Danny Powell (Cindy) of Richmond, Indiana; Tommy Powell of Liberty, Indiana; and Mike Powell (Connie) of Estill County; two sisters: Reva Franklin and Loretta Warford, both of Indiana; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Warford of Indiana; 23 grandchildren, and several great and great, great grandchildren.

    She was born August 4, 1955, in Fayette County and had lived in Estill County most of her life. She was a retired employee of the Estill County School System and a member of the Irvine First Church of God.
    Mrs. Smyth is survived by her father, Neal Smith, Jr. of Lee County; her husband, Larry Dale Smyth; three sons: Chris Smyth of Estill County; Neal Smyth (Crystal) of Tennessee, and Robert Smyth (Kelli), of Jefferson County; one sister, Barbara Begley (John) of Lee County; one brother, Keith Smith (Connie) of Lee County; five grandchildren: Eden Smyth, Kaitlyn Soto (Victor), Austin Moir, Landan Smyth, and Rylee Smyth; one great grandchild, Anabeth Soto; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her mothers, Lousetta “Duckie” Smith and Wanda Prescott; and one brother, Robert Smith.

    Eleanor Viola Steffen Benedict, age 102, of Ann Street in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023, at her home following a short illness.
    She was born October 3, 1920, in Wilkesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Emil and Marie Strawbaugh Steffen. She retired from the Rio Grande College where she worked as the Co-Director of RSVP. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of McArthur and had lived in Ohio all her life. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society and previously sat on the Ohio Senior Citizens Board of Directors.
    Mrs. Benedict was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Leslie Benedict.
    She is survived by two daughters: Barbara Wrightsel, Columbus, Ohio; and Cynthia “Cindy” Rice (David), of Estill County; a son, Les Benedict (Joy), of Estill County; ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and several great, great grandchildren.
    In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Becky Faulkner; a sister, Kathy Dushac; and four brothers, Emil, Ray Fred, Paul, and Harold Steffen.
    Memorial services will be held at a later date.

    She was born July 15, 1951, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Richard E. and Lorene Embry Frazier. She was a former employee of Carhartt, Inc. and Toyota South in Richmond. She was a member of the Sandhill Christian Church and had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mrs. Shouse is survived by her husband, Bobby Lloyd Shouse; two great-nieces she helped raise, Allison Frazier and Mahailee Combs; four sisters: Wanda Frazier of Montgomery County; Donna Parsons (Jerry), Kae Tipton (Raymond), both of Estill County; and Mary Jo Dennis (Shelby), Madison County; two brothers: Rick Frazier (Shirley) and Ronald Frazier (Peggy), both of Estill County; a sister-in-law, Doris Hudson, Madison County; a brother-in-law, Tony Shouse (Louise), Madison County; ten nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by a special nephew, David Frazier; and a special niece, Vanessa Hale.

    Robert Wayne “Robbie” Muncie, age 53, of Turpin Ridge Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
    He was born October 27, 1969, in Dayton, Ohio and was the son of Bertha Louise Powell Tipton and the late Gary Wayne Muncie. He was an employee of Lockheed Martin and a member of the Providence Baptist Church. He was highly involved in youth sports, serving as a coach, referee, and umpire. He had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Kristin Leigh Combs Muncie; two daughters: Lexi McKay Muncie and Preslee Morgan Muncie; one brother, Michael Scott Muncie (Kristi); his stepmother, Vicki Muncie; one stepbrother: Michael Glenn Tipton (Lisa); four nieces: McKeely Zerhusen (Gared), Katy Webb, Maci Muncie, and Molly Tipton; one nephew, Chase Muncie; and a great nephew, Luxton Zerhusen.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Wayne Muncie; and his stepfather, Woody Tipton.
    Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 21, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at the Providence Baptist Church with Bro. Bill VanWinkle, Bro. Keith Weldon, and Bro. Tim Roberts officiating.     Loretta Embs Gabbard, widow of Clarence Eugene Gabbard and the daughter of the late Norval Hampton and Mallie V. Berryman Embs, was born in Log Lick, Kentucky on June 13, 1933 and departed this life in Jackson, Kentucky on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at the age of 89 years, 11 months, and 4 days. She was a former inspector for Lion Apparel and a member of the St. Helens Christian Church.
    She is survived by her son, David Lee Gabbard of Beattyville; one brother, Ronald Gene Embs; nieces and nephew, Karen E. Hall (Danny), Stephen D. Embs, and Dana L. Baldanza (Nick); and one great niece, Abree Baldanza; all of Winchester, Kentucky.
    Mrs. Gabbard was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
    A graveside service was held at Riverview Cemetery in Beattyville, Kentucky on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Glen Wilson officiating.

    She was born February 29, 1940, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late James and Callie Case Fielder. She was a seamstress and a homemaker. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church, and she had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mary Lee is survived by one daughter, Sherrie Powell (Mike Mainous); one son, Gary Powell (Robin); three sisters, Geraldine “Tina” Crowe, Delores Arthur (Earl), and Diane Willis; two brothers: Jim Fielder (Margie) and Darrell Fielder; three grandchildren: Courtney Worley (Jonathan), Laura Haydon (Brandon), and Jordan Powell; and five great grandchildren: Katelyn Worley, Kamryn Worley, Kyden Worley, Kennedy Haydon, and Ella Haydon.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Tipton and Elizabeth Crowe; and one brother, J.W. Fielder.
    Funeral services were conducted Friday, May 19, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Tory Jones officiating. Burial was at the Cobb Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
    Pallbearers were Jordan Powell, Anthony Arthur, Robbie Hunter, Chad Hunter, Dylan Arthur, and Aiden Baber.

Reverend John Willis Shearer,

    Reverend John Willis Shearer, age 87, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle passed into eternal joy and rest with Jesus, his heart’s greatest desire, Thursday, May 11, 2023.
    Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to John William Shearer and Alma Kathryn Galbough, John lived most of his young life in Kentucky which led to a life-long obsession with Kentucky basketball. John served his country in the National Guard and U.S. Army from 1953 to 1963, acting as special assistant to General Decker in Korea and Intel Specialist in the 1st Airborne 50th Infantry.
    John also served his Lord and His church as a layman, distributing Bibles with the Gideons, preaching and lay pastoring, in parachurch ministries: BGEA Worldwide Pictures and Prison Fellowship; then as senior pastor or interim minister at many churches across the United States. He will be fondly remembered by many as "Pastor John."
    He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Betty Crouse Shearer; his son, Jonathan Shearer; three daughters, Kaylene Feiger (Tony), Karen Boyd (Robby), and Vanessa Shearer; five granddaughters Caitlin Shearer, Meagan Easlic (Will), Kaylee Eisman (Ben), Rebecca Boyd, and Kari Feiger; three grandsons, Andrew Feiger, Joshua Feiger, and John Mark Feiger; great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Jamison, Avery, Haylee, and Zuris; brothers, Larry Shearer (Susan) and David Shearer (Ellen), and sisters, Joy Brown (Don), Kathy Osborne (Jim), and Sharon Shearer; as well as many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
    A memorial service was held Friday, May 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Utica Christian Church, Utica, Mississippi. Visitation began at 10:00 a.m.
    Another service in his honor is being planned for Saturday, June 3, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, Richmond, Kentucky.

    Fay Anderson, age 84, of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester.
    She was born August 11, 1938 to Arch and Martha Snowden Toler. She was a housewife.
    Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband, David Anderson; and a sister, Shirley Darlene Petit.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joe and Arch Toler; and four sisters, Ruby Lee Rardon, Lorraine Anderson, Jewell Anderson and Julie Toler.
    Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Clay City. Friends may visit Saturday from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Patton Cemetery in Clay City.

    Junior Clay Chaney, age 74, of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
    He was born in Irvine, Kentucky, December 11, 1948 to Warren and Minnie Marie Wasson Chaney. He was a mechanic.
    Mr. Chaney is survived by two sons, Jody Chaney (Tina) and Allen Chaney; a daughter, Joanie Finney; three brothers, Joe Chaney, Gene Chaney and Eddie Chaney; and a sister, Louise Townsend.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Minnie Chaney.
    Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Clay City with Bro. Sidney Sparks officiating. Friends visited Thursday from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Burial was in the Mt. Canaan Cemetery in Stanton.

    Angela Lee Jones, age 52, of Stanton, Kentucky passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 at her home.
    She was born on March 11, 1971 in Campton, Kentucky to the late Floyd Clay Jones and Rosalee Tharp Jones.
    Angela loved spending time with her family; she loved to dance, to travel and riding motorcycles.
    In addition to her mother, she is survived by her fiancé, Josh Ross of Furnace; two brothers: Floyd Douglas Jones (Erica) of Patsy and Jeffrey Scott Jones of Stanton; three nieces: Haeleigh Denae Jones, Madison Woosley and McKenzie Woosley; and one nephew, Jacolby Jones.
    Funeral services officiated by Bro. Donald Hale will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Sunday, May 21st at the funeral home.
    Burial will be at Jones and Frazier Cemetery in Stanton with Ricky Creed, Darren Dawson, Anthony Duff, Josh Ross, Jessie Willis, Darryl Gregory, Chris Colliver and Dennis Bennett serving as active pallbearers.

    Charles Denver "Green" Wilburn, 75, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
    He was born March 1, 1948 in Pilot, Kentucky, to the late Willie and Gertie Centers Wilburn. A veteran of the United States Army and a Freemason, he is survived by one son, Carl Wilburn; a brother, Donald Wilburn; two grandchildren, Lucas Wilburn and Corrin Conner; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family & many friends.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: brothers Damon Wilburn, Desmond Wilburn, and Delmont Wilburn; and sisters Mae Colaw, Vivian Townsend, Gloria Mick, Betty Duff and Dottie Daniels.
    Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home in Stanton, on Thursday, May 18, 2023. Visitation was also on Thursday, beginning at 12:00 Noon for family and friends.
    Burial followed the funeral at the Mountain Chapel Cemetery with Raymond Hall, Gene Meadows, Steve Boyd, Joey Boyd, Adam Brown, and Derrick Meadows serving as pallbearers.

    Martha Jane Coldiron, age 78, of Stanton, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023.
    She was born August 29, 1944 in Campton, Kentucky, to John and Eliza Branham. She was a housewife and a member of the Bowen Pentecostal Holiness Church.
    Mrs. Coldiron is survived by three sons, Floyd Branham (Rhonda), Luther Coldiron (Angie), and Lonnie Coldiron (Roxanne); two daughters, Phyllis Abney (Darrell) and Daphney Coldiron; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Omer Branham (Sharon).
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Coldiron; five brothers, Ova Branham, Elmer Branham, Jerry Branham, Howard Branham, and Lewis Branham; and three sisters, Delfia Barker, Cora King and Demi Creech.
    Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Clay City with Bro. Tim Morrison officiating. Friends visited Wednesday from 12:00 Noon till time of the service. Burial followed in the Branham Cemetery at Nada.

Easter Lynn McCoy

    Easter Lynn McCoy, age 65, of West Liberty, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2023 at the Saint Claire Medical Center in Morehead.
    Born in Stanton, Kentucky, on April 6, 1958, he was the son of the late Verlin Green McCoy and the late Ruby Rogers McCoy Scott.
    Along with his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his three brothers: William Ray McCoy, Verlin McCoy, Jr., and Charles Dewayne McCoy; one sister, Bernice Tincher; and one grandchild, Jordan Svatba.
    Easter was a former member of the United States Army National Guard and was a heavy equipment operator with the Hinkle Contracting Company. He was a very good Daddy and Grandpa and loved his family dearly. He was a selfless, humble, peaceful-natured man with a heart of gold.
    He is survived by one daughter. Tina Svatba (Phillip) of Stanton; one brother, Timothy McCoy of Stanton; two sisters: Brenda Case of Winchester and Kay Bellamy (Ollie Ray) of Stanton; and three grandchildren: Eric Lynn Svatba, Byron Lynn Svatba, and Jasper Lynn Svatba.
    Visitation was held at Hearne Funeral Home in Stanton from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday as well at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Bro. Gary Sparks.
    Burial was held in the McCoy Cemetery on Furnace Mountain with Anthony Bellamy, Justin Tincher, Alex McCoy, Norvin Maberry, Zack Tincher, Matt Tincher and Noah Tipton serving as active pallbearers.
    Honorary pallbearers were Rick Lennon and Irvil Rogers.

    She was born January 9, 1931 to the late Robert and Mabel Roundtree Rice.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Charles "Bud" Rice and Julian "Ike" Rice; and sisters, Thelma "Fannie" Fallen, Sharon Gilbert, and Virginia Johnson.
    She is survived by two sons, Earl Douglas Adams (Marlene) and Gregory Keith Adams (Lisa); a daughter, Victoria Lynn Chappel (Bobby); three brothers, Dickie Rice (Frances), Kenneth "Goat" Rice, and Danny Rice; two sisters, Gayle Stewart (Lonnie Dale) and Doris Gilbert (Earl); grandchildren, Tonya Snowden (Tim), Aaron Adams (Samantha), Elliott Gentry, Micah Gentry, Jonathan Adams (Jodie), and Brittany Adams Billings (Patrick); and great grandchildren, Timothy Blake Snowden, Karson Douglas Snowden, Joshua Lee Gentry, Lauryn Piper Adams, Jayden Konner Adams, Hayden Cooper Gentry, Bailee Kate Billings, and Bryson Cal Billings.
    Services were held at Wells Funeral Home, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Harold Kelly and Bro. George Sparks officiating. Visitation was on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in the West Bend Cemetery.

    Rodney Allen Crowe, age 74, of Stanton, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester.
    He was born on September 20, 1948 to the late John William Crowe and Ivory Shuler Crowe.
    Mr. Crowe is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Crowe; three daughters, Lisa Wheatley, Yalonda Crowe, both of Clay City, and Dosha Plummer (Todd) of Winchester.
    He is preceded in death by his son, Ricky Crowe; a grandson, Cody Marcum; and two brothers, Ed Crowe and Floyd Crowe.
    In addition to his wife and daughters, he is survived by sisters, Delfia Marcum and Gail Spencer (Mark), both of Winchester; 13 grandchildren, Harley Rogers, Tanner Rogers, Paige Wheatley, Erikah Cox, Wade Crowe, Brady Crowe, Alyssa Crowe, Jessica Trent, Dwight Trent, Clarissa Trent, Seth Trent and David Crowe; and 15 great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
    Rodney was a loving Dad and Papaw as well as a great mechanic and a huge NASCAR fan. He attended Full Gospel Lighthouse Church. Rodney was very patriotic and had the utmost respect for his country and all those who served.
    Services were held Saturday, May 13, 2023, 11:30 a.m., Wells Funeral Home, Stanton, by Bro. Dale Payne and Bro. Sammy Faulkner. Visitation was on Friday, May 12th, 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Burial was in Stonegate Cemetery with Harley Rogers, Dwight Trent, Tanner Rogers, Seth Trent, David Crowe, and Jessica Trent serving as pallbearers.
    Honorary pallbearers serving was the Staff of Stanton Nursing Center.

    He was born February 7, 1962 in Campton, Kentucky, to the late Kenneth Knox and the late Geraldine Wells Smith.
    Survivors include sisters Sandra Knox and Vickie Knox, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Herbert Knox and William Dale Knox.
