Judy Darlene Abney Baker

    Judy Darlene Abney Baker, age 72, of Kingston, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Baptist Health – Richmond.
    She was born in Jackson County on September 25, 1949.
    Mrs. Baker retired from Hyster-Yale and enjoyed sitting on her back deck reading her Bible and enjoying the wildlife outdoors. She was an active member of Victory World Outreach Center in Richmond where she helped in the children’s class and was known as “Momma Baker” to many.
    Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Terry D. Baker; her children, Libby Wiseman and Dale Baker (Allison); ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Delphia Abney; one daughter, Christina Baker; and two sisters, Deloris Tipton and Jane Shivel.
    Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Victory World Outreach Center, 2233 Lexington Road, Richmond, with Pastor Chris Holman officiating. Burial will follow in the Dreyfus Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at the church.
    Pallbearers will be Jeff Anderson, Jerry Wells, Paxton Goodin, Mason Goodin, Matthew Baker and Coty Baker.
    Honorary pallbearer will be her son, Dale Baker.

Donald Ray Horn, 82

    Donald Ray Horn, age 82, of Reges Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021, at his home following a long illness.
    He was born October 17, 1939 in Estill County and was the son of the late Troy and Corria Meredith Horn. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a retired employee of the Kentucky State Highway Department of Transportation. He was an elder at the Ravenna Christian Church, a Kentucky Colonel and a member and past Master of the O.D. Henderson 437 Masonic Lodge. He had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Horn is survived by his wife, Millie Sue Burnett Horn; three sons: Donald Ray Horn, II (Christy), Gregory Scott Horn (Kim), both of Estill County; and Mark Allen Horn (Kim), Madison County; and eleven grandchildren: Jacquline Renae Horn, Adam Dalton Horn, Dakota Paige Lyvers, McKenzie Rae Horn, Joshua Sturgill, Makayla Raye Horn, Rachael Nicole Horn, Aaron Gage Sturgill, Chase Allen Horn, Andrew Benjamine Sturgill and Cruz Ellington Horn.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Teresa Renae Sturgill; his sister, Doris Faye Horn; and a brother, Garry Horn.
    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 29, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tony White officiating. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. with Masonic Rites at 7:30 p.m.
    Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
    Honorary pallbearers are members, deacons and elders of the Ravenna Christian Church; his nephews, and numerous friends.

Stanley Ferrell Postlethwait

    Stanley Ferrell Postlethwait, age 96, of Robert Telford Drive in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at the Compassionate Care Center following a long illness.
    He was born January 3, 1925 in Paden City, West Virginia and was the son of the late Ray and Icie Grimm Postlethwait. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force and served during World War II. He was a retired employee of the United States Forestry Service, a member of the Southland Christian Church and was a former member of the Masons.
    Mr. Postlethwait was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kay Eckley Postlethwait; and is survived by his son, Stanley Bruce Postlethwait; and his grandson, David Anderson.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Roberta Anderson; and his sister, Donna Jean Ferrebee.
    There are no services scheduled at this time.

    Genevieve Richardson, age 95, of Sandhill Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021, at the Irvine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a short illness.
    She was born October 19, 1926 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late John P. and Pearlie Quillan Caudill. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sandhill Christian Church. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Richardson; and is survived by one daughter, Rayma Faye Evans (Dwight), Madison County; two sons: Howard Richardson (Millie) and Kenneth Richardson (Pam), both of Estill County; one sister, Aliene Palmer, Clark County; one brother, Willis Caudill, Letcher County; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Berry; and four brothers, Charles Caudill, John Caudill, Jr., Granville Johnson and Rufford Caudill.
    Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 28, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronald Lutes officiating. Burial will be at the Johnny Richardson Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

    James Park Tevis, age 80, of Sandhill Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
    He was born August 26, 1941 in Estill County and was the son of the late Earl and Bernice Congleton Tevis. He was a long-term employee of the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and later retired from the Thompson Engineering Co. He was affiliated with the Morris Creek First Church of God and had lived in Estill County all his life.
    Mr. Tevis is survived by his wife, Doris Dean Garrett Tevis; his son, Park Allen Tevis, Irvine; one sister, Phyllis Ann Freeman (Bill), Irvine; one grandchild, Jeffrey Allen Tevis (Savanna); one niece, Sheila Freeman; and one nephew, Billy Earl Freeman.
    He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Eva Karen Tevis.
    Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 26, 2021, 2:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Raymond Tipton officiating.     She was born September 6, 1950 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Eugene and Christine Jones Tipton. She was a homemaker and attended the Hargett Church. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Mrs. Walling was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Walling; and her grandson, Thomas Lambert.
    She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Lambert of Estill County; one sister, Carolyn Coffey of Montgomery County; one brother, David Gene Tipton of Estill County; two grandchildren: Angel Spicer and Alexandria Lambert; and one great grandchild, Sebastian Romos.
    Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 24, 2021, 12:00 Noon at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Floyd officiating. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 a.m. to service time at 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Home.

Wilma L. Wiseman Horn

    Wilma L. Wiseman Horn, age 79, of Winston Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021, at her home following a courageous battle and living life to the fullest.
    She was born September 1, 1942 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Arch and Lula Campbell Wiseman. She was an employee of the Estill County Board of Education where she worked as a cook. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mrs. Horn was preceded in death by her husband, William Horn.
    She is survived by her son, Dwight “Deebird” Horn (Margaret) of Estill County; two grandchildren: Richard Kyle Horn and Shelby Janell Stewart (Josh; and her special niece and caretaker, Peggy Turpin.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her one son, Charles Mason Horn; one sister, Louise Villers; and two brothers, Arthur Wiseman and Russell Wiseman.
    Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 27, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Turpin, Bro. Eric Patrick, Bro. Doug Baker, and Bro. John Villers officiating. Burial was in the Sonny Powell Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday, December 26th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

    Geraldine Scrivner, age 83, of South Winn Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021, at her home following a short illness.
    She was born April 17, 1938 in Madison County and was the daughter of Robert and Jessie McIntosh Stepp. She was a homemaker, a former Carhartt, Inc. employee and a member of the Pine Grove Pentecostal Holiness Assembly. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mrs. Scrivner is survived by her husband, James Bentley Scrivner; two daughters: Deborah K. Watson (James) and Patrina G. Stidham (Tony), both of Irvine; three sisters-in-law: Carolyn Stepp of Estill County; Sharron Stepp of Madison County; and Jeanette Stepp of Hamilton, Ohio; four grandchildren: Brandon Watson, Miranda Conner, Erica White and Leah Stidham; nine great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Luke Stidham; one sister, Floretta Robertson; and five brothers, Steve, Ernest, Boyd, Lawrence and Billy Ray Stepp.
    Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 23, 2021, 12:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sidney Sparks officiating.     G.B. Kelley, age 74, of Barnes Mountain Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital.
    He was born May 17, 1947, in Estill County and was the son of William Achilles and Kate Flannery Kelley. He was a retired contractor and had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Kelley is survived by his wife, Fonda Newman Kelley; three sons: Ricky Harris (Diane), G. B. Kelley, Jr. (Melissa), both of Irvine; and Clint W. Kelley, Richmond, Kentucky; three sisters: Cleta Cox, Richmond, Indiana; Ella Arvin (Denny), Irvine; and Margaret Grindstaff (Ira), Richmond, Kentucky; three grandchildren: Brooklyn Kelley, Kirston Kelley and William Kelley; and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; seven sisters, Irene Moon, Catherine Jones, Janette Marshall, Clara and Claudia Kelley, Treva Margison, and Nannie Florence; and three brothers, Billy Kelley, Russell Kelley and Raymond Kelly.

    Shirley Faye Griffin Mays, age 82, of Irvine, Kentucky, went to be with the angels and our Heavenly Father, on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
    Shirley was born on October 4, 1939, in Lee County, Kentucky, to the late Earnest and Thelma Estes Griffin.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Nelson “Pete” Mays; and six brothers: Herman, J.C., Earnest Jr., Claiborne, Donald Lee, Arthur, and Herman Griffin.
    Mrs. Mays is survived by three sons: Dewey Mays (Carla) of Beattyville; Albert Mays (Betty) and Delbert Mays (Edith), both of Lee County; one brother, Omer Griffin of Old Landing.
    Her grandchildren include: Nelson Mays (Regina) of Lee County, Larry Joe Mays of Richmond, Tasha Cundiff (Eddie) of Lee County, Brandon Joe Mays (Christy) of Richmond, Anthony G. Mays (Lora) of Norton, Virginia; Tanner Mays of Lee County, Stephanie Chadwell (Joey) of Booneville, Candace Collins of Lee County, Bryan Mays (Molli), Beattyville, Michaela and Mike Jones of West Union, West Virginia, and Timothy Mays (Amber) of Nicholasville.
    Great grandchildren are: Nicholas, Wesley, And Jake Mays; Preslee and Grant Cundiff; Riddick Blanton and Chloe Ross, all of Lee County; Dylan, Brady and Macy Mays of Richmond; Braylan Mays of Richmond, Sydney Chadwell of Booneville, and Jayden Isabella Mays of Norton, Virginia; as well as three great grandchildren: Chesney and Brycen Mays of Irvine; and Mc-Kenzie Jones of West Union, West Virginia; and many other relatives and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
    Graveside funeral services for Shirley Faye Griffin Mays will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the Logue Cemetery in Crystal, Kentucky, with Brother Ricky Issacs officiating. Family and friends will leave in procession to the cemetery at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday from the Lewis Home for Funerals.

Sherry Melissa Tester

    Sherry Melissa Tester of Lexington, Kentucky, departed this life Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the age of 47 years, 11 months and 21 days.
    She was a daughter of Gladys Robinson Tester and the late Clarence Everett Tester born in Lexington, Kentucky on December 23, 1973. She was a general laborer.
    Ms. Tester is survived by her mother, Gladys Robinson Tester of Irvine; one brother, Jeff Tester of Lexington; two sisters, Melissa Tester of Louisville, and Sandra Tester of Lexington; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to mourn her passing.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Everett Tester.
    Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Porter and Son Funeral Directors, 69 East Main Street in Campton. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Kenneth Burnett officiating. Burial will be in the Holly Wilson Cemetery, Caskey Fork in Morgan County.

    She was born October 10, 1955, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Hiram and Pauline Mosley Johnson. She was a homemaker and had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Survivors include two daughters: Jennifer Gayle Isaacs (Benny), Estill County; and Jessica Dawn Markland (Brian), Montgomery County; four sisters: Della M. Johnson, Thelma Johnson, Linda Barrett (Gerald), and Minnie Faye Johnson, all of Estill County; six brothers: Roy Johnson (Stephanie), Clark County; Randy Johnson (Teresa), Donnie Johnson (Kathy), Donald Johnson (Peggy), Jesse Wayne Johnson (Rene), and Henry Ray Johnson (Andreana), all of Estill County; and two grandchildren: Benjamin Kyle Isaacs and Caleb Paul Isaacs.
    In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, James Lester Johnson, Larry Johnson, Keith Johnson and Kelvin Johnson.
    Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 20, 2021, 2:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Rose officiating. Burial will be at the Chestnut Stand Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 12:00 Noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Barbara Jean Neal McKenzie

    Barbara Jean Neal McKenzie, age 75, of Henry White Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021, at her home, following a long illness.
    She was born July 7, 1946, in Bell County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Mack and Martha Rose Neal. She retired from the Pikeville Methodist Hospital as a billing manager. She was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church in Richmond and had lived in Estill County the past 21 years.
    Mrs. McKenzie is survived by her Husband, James Barry McKenzie; two daughters: Cassie Leigh Pinson (John), Madison County; and Jamie Waddle (Andy), Estill County; six grandchildren, Caitlin Pinson, Ben Pinson, Alex Pinson, Braeden Waddle, Wyatt Waddle, and Dylan Waddle.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Neal McKenzie.
    Memorial services will be held at a later date.

    Viola King Dunn, passed from her earthly home to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at the age of 80.
    Born on January 19, 1941, Viola was the daughter of the late Bill and Susie King of Breathitt County, Kentucky.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Charles Dunn, and her grandson, Austin Philip Dunn.
    Mrs. Dunn is survived by her four children: Peggy Dunn Brooks (Tony) of Lancaster, Charles Philip Dunn of Lexington, Michael Ray Dunn (Lori) of Lawrenceburg, and Timothy Lewis Dunn of Lexington (Marty); seven grandchildren: Holli Dunn Reynolds (Trent) of Hartselle, Alabama; Joshua Ayres of Lancaster, Brianne Ayres of Irvine, Kyle Michael Dunn of Nicholasville, Skylar Dunn of Lexington, William James Dunn of Nicholasville, and Chaney Dunn of Lexington: and two great grandchildren, Everett Cole and Charles Dwain Reynolds of Hartselle, Alabama.
    Pallbearers include Philip Dunn, Michael Dunn, Tim Dunn, Trenton Reynolds, Joshua Ayres and Kyle Dunn.
    Honorary pallbearers include Will Dunn, Tony Brooks, Anthony Keith Brooks, Caden Barnett, Dakota Barnett, Aden Brooks, Jocelyn Brooks, Kyle Harris, Cody Harris, Clayton Allen Richardson, Christian Thomas Richardson and Colton Michael Richardson.
    Funeral services were conducted by Rolan G. Taylor of Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home of Winchester, at the Main Street location of Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington.
    Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, December 18th. Burial followed at the King Family Cemetery in Breathitt County.
